Martin is a Partner in RK’s Dispute Resolution Group and a dual qualified lawyer (England & Wales and Australia) with over 25 years of litigation and dispute resolution experience. He joined RK in 2020 having handled complex commercial disputes to trial and appeal, mediations and regulatory investigations across several common and civil law jurisdictions throughout the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Matin’s experience extends to acting for financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, hedge funds, regulators, listed entities and public sector bodies. His career highlights include advising clients in relation to an interconnected fraud/ Ponzi investment scheme resulting in complex cross border related recovery actions worth in excess of £115m, misrepresentation/ negligence claims worth USD650m, freezing orders, search and seizure orders, multi-million pound director duties claims, multi-million pound auditor claims together with successfully defending several high-profile judicial reviews (for example, R (Save the Futurist Theatre (Scarborough) Limited) v Scarborough Borough Council, unreported decision, Kerr J, 16 June 2017; Hudson v Solicitors Regulation Authority [2017] EWHC 3478 (Admin); R (British Homeopathic Association) v National Health Service Commissioning Board & Ors [2018] EWHC 1359 (Admin); R (Sky Blue Sports & Leisure Ltd) v Coventry City Council [2014] EWHC 2089 (Admin) and R (Sky Blue Sports & Leisure Ltd) v Coventry City Council [2014] EWHC 1747 (Admin)).

Integral to his fraud and commercial litigation practice at RK, Martin has advised several foreign insolvency practitioners, listed entities and investor groups. This has seen him lead a multi-disciplinary team in the successful Gable fraud litigation trial in the middle of 2025 (Gable Insurance v William Dewsall & Ors [2025] [EWHC 2280 (Ch); [2025] EWHC 3194 (Ch) and [2025] EWHC 3399 (Ch)), two freezing orders (Gable Insurance v William Dewsall & Ors [2023] EWHC 3529 (Ch) and [2024] EWHC 3134 (Ch)), a search and seizure order and connected appeal to the Court of Appeal (Judith Dewsall v Gable Insurance AG [2025] EWCA Civ 884).
As a qualified mediator, Martin has considerable experience in advising and representing a broad spectrum of clients in resolving disputes through mediation and other alternative dispute resolution processes. While at RK he has notably acted for an investor group at mediation in a fraudulent misrepresentation, deceit and conspiracy claim against the former CEO of a listed entity and which ultimately led to the successful resolution of the matter on confidential terms.

As part of his experience, Martin has also written and co-written extensively with leading General Counsel publishing articles in numerous publications throughout UK, Europe, Asia and Australia on topics including: bespoke in-house legal issues, privilege, ethics, confidentiality & privacy, corporate governance, practice & procedure and costs.

Martin was recognised in The Legal 500, UK edition (2023) with clients commenting that he “has terrific judgement and is a tough litigator”.
